Little Fellow, Big Noise

Since childhood reptiles have held a special interest for me, especially frogs.

It seems every house I’ve lived in has tree frogs, the loud little ones.

When the tree frogs would croak with their usual call and response, my father, then elderly and hard of hearing would holler impatiently “Would someone answer the phone!”

Of course, this is now a part of our family lexicon.
